Captain's House
The Captain's House offers a turn-of-the-century retreat tucked away behind its picket fence and moon gate, surrounded by a cottage garden.
Come join us in the peaceful salt air of Bainbridge Island. Snuggle in our cozy bedroom with four-poster bed, fluffy comforter, period furniture and private bath. Relax in the old porch swing. Enjoy delicious breakfasts of savory omelettes, European pastries and fruit. Take your coffee on the deck in the company of the old apple tree and holly bush. Stroll across the street to the marina and Winslow's waterfront trail. Rent a kayak, canoe or swan boat. Or a bike.
Yes, a real captain used to live here. Well, sort of. His name was E.L. Franks, and at the turn of the century he was confirmed an honorary captain for connecting Seattle and Bainbridge Island via the Mosquito Fleet passenger steamer Florence K. Cap Franks and his wife Clara built this home in 1906.
The Captain's House is located in Winslow five blocks west of the ferry dock. We're ideally situated for exploring the unique shops and restaurants of this small island town. The cinema complex and City Hall are only a block away. We are accessible from Seattle by foot or car (via ferry), or boat.
